A New Jersey native, Debbie Fagnano’s music studies began with piano and organ lessons at an early age and continued through college in NJ and Houston, majoring in music and education. She appeared as a piano entertainer in numerous clubs and restaurants throughout Houston and New Orleans. Debbie was a music teacher in the Catholic School system, taught piano privately, and served as organist and music director at several churches in NJ, TX, and LA. In January 2001, Debbie became the Director of Music Ministry at OLPH. In 2014, she celebrated 50 years of service in liturgical music, since joining her church’s Children’s Choir. For the past 28 years, “Ms. Calliope” has been performing daily steam organ concerts on board the Steamboat Natchez. In her moments of free time, Debbie enjoys going to the opera, musical theater, classical concerts, jazz clubs, and dining with friends. Crocheting also keeps her fingers busy. Her mission in life is bringing joy to others through a God-given talent for music, no matter where she is.
